Global warming

Sooo...

Whether or not you accept the fact that mankind is affecting climate change, it's almost irrelevant, and/or doesn't matter.

In either case, the CLIMATE IS CHANGING.

If it's just the planet in a different cycle, great. If the changes are accelerated by humans, great. If carbon is the devil/savior, great.

It DOESN'T FKG MATTER, the CLIMATE IS CHANGING.

So, rail against science if it pleases you, rail against the 'liberal media' if that pleases you, but please:

At least be honest enough to admit that the climate is changing, and humans are soon to be on the short end of the stick, IF WE DON'T DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Sorry for the CAPS, but this discussion bores me.

You can deny that the climate is changing and cling to random science to support your view, but if that's the case, you're very short-sighted.

The climate is actually changing, and we're going to need to adapt as a species if we want to continue living on this planet.

Ask a farmer.

Climate change could cost billions a year by 2020

Torontonians try to stay cool during a heat wave in July 2011. A new report says climate change will bring costs to public health, including deaths due to extreme heat and air pollution. (CBC)

Goracle hardest hit.

Via Rare:
The Associated Press issued a formal retraction of a photo it published that claimed to show that a large lake had formed at the North Pole due to global warming.
In its retraction, the AP admitted that not only was the “lake” simply a small melt-pond but that it was natural, not due to global warming.

The AP also admitted that the “lake” wasn’t even at the North Pole, explaining that the monitoring station where the photo was taken had drifted hundreds of miles to the south.

UPDATE: Full AP retraction
Editors, photo editors, and photo librarians – please eliminate AP photo NY109 that was sent on Saturday, July 27, 2013. The caption inaccurately stated that “the shallow metlwater lake is occuring due to an unusually warm period.” In fact, the water accumulates in this way every summer. In addition, the images do not necessarily show conditions at the North Pole, because the weather buoy carrying the camera used by the North Pole Environmental Observatory has drifted hundreds of miles from its original position, which was a few dozen miles from the North Pole.

In a couple of hundred years historians will be comparing the frenzies over our supposed human contribution to global warming to the tumults at the latter end of the Tenth Century as the Christian millennium approached. Then as now, the doomsters identified human sinfulness as the propulsive factor in the planet's rapid downward slide.
Then, as now, a buoyant market throve on fear. The Roman Catholic Church sold indulgences like checks. The sinners established a line of credit against bad behavior and could go on sinning. Today a world market in "carbon credits" is in formation. Those whose "carbon footprint" is small can sell their surplus carbon credits to others less virtuous than themselves.
The modern trade is as fantastical as the medieval one. There is still zero empirical evidence that anthropogenic production of carbon dioxide is making any measurable contribution to the world's present warming trend. The greenhouse fearmongers rely on unverified, crudely oversimplified models to finger mankind's sinful contribution — and carbon trafficking, just like the old indulgences, is powered by guilt, credulity, cynicism and greed.

Is Global Warming A Sin?
