Again, you simply post something without checking it out first.
"Figures cited by government officials do show an increase – though not as big a jump as Stevens claims. Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne
said at the department’s press conference that the polar bear population increased from "a low of about 12,000 in the late 1960s to approximately 25,000 today." But the size of the world’s polar bear population is subject to much debate."
The history of polar bear numbers is sketchy at best, but there are some good numbers to rely upon. Polar Bears prior to the late 60's were allowed to be hunted and the numbers were diminished. Thats a little something your "SIGN" doesnt say. Secondly, the estimated numbers for polar bears in the 60's ranged in the low 12,000's and not 5000 like your "SIGN" suggests.
Polar Bear Population
While the numbers of polar bears increased since the 60's, it wasnt due to climate change not occuring, but mainly because they could no longer be hunted and gained protective status.
However, as the population grew, and the planet heats, those numbers in the 20k's is reducing.
I love how you just run with whatever shows up in your email box.
