Arctic Sea Ice Is Growing Faster Than Before, But There's A CatchFirst off Arctic ice has increased recently, not decreased. Second it's summer in Antarctica, and San Diego has mild but cool weather in the winter. True that it's a higher temp than previously recorded, but we've only been recording temps there a short while. And the Pacific goes through El Nino and La Nina phases as well as an intermediate phase. It's not just doing one particular thing. And we just came out of a long stretch with very little hurricane activity. And there have been very intense hurricanes in the past too. And then there's the solar cycles with sunspot activity that has a huge influence on our weather. We also had very hot temps in the 1930's. Didn't go up in a straight line from then heat wise. The truth is the weather is made up of many moving parts that can't be boiled down to just man made climate change. I'll take it all more seriously when liberals don't use it as an excuse to enact socialism. For some reason they always tie saving the planet to all of these social programs we don't have the money for. Fix the weather if it's broken(if you can). But leave what works in the economy alone.

Nature huh? Does that include over population, poor sanitation , insufficient food inspection, a breaking down healthcare system etc etc. Nature has nothing to do with a changing human condition brought on by numerous man made conditions. But more to your point, nature has a way of evening out imbalances. Too many people? Along comes a virus that's particularly acute where people are crowded together.
Nature is the driving force of the changing human condition. Humanity’s discovery of nature’s effect and how to conquer the negative aspects of it are the true ‘man made conditions’.Nature huh? Your cart is in front of your horse.
I’m still wondering why the Obama’s bought that mansion on the water. Hmmmm
No, nature didn't bring them on but it may find a way to eliminate the problem i.e. people.Nature huh? In that order! So am I losing %3 of my Resi's or %70..thats the range I have read on this board topic. Also that I have to have a baby and move to higher ground
Except for the willfully ignorant, it is obvious that predictions ARE playing out. Record setting massive hurricanes and typhoons are happening every year now. 500 and 1000 year floods and storms are occurring every couple of years The antarctic had temps as high as temps in San Diego last week. The arctic ocean ice is thinner than ever measured, with a steady decrease in average area covered.Glacier National Park has only 18% of the glacial coverage it has had for 10,000 years. They think that just because the earth has had temp swing in the past, that it won't be a problem now. They think that spending a few trillion now to get off carbon is stupid , because we aren't 100% certain it will save 100s of trillions in the future
For the stupid, an average decrease in area covered doesn't mean that every year the area will decrease, but over time, the average area covered by ice is shrinking . The climate change deniers have no clue as to how a greenhouse works, or what a tipping point is. They don't understand that the ocean is a massive heat sink that is slowly warming while the planet absorbs more and more solar heat. And now that ocean temps have risen, the air is warming, and the oceans will continue to absorb most of the heat, but oceans drive the weather, and the ignorant just don't understand. They believe everything will be fine, because after all, the plant was warm in the past. But they ignore that the greenhouse gases at the level they are now have never existed since the dawn of man.
And just because some of the most dire predictions from outliers in the science haven't happened as predicted, the believe that they can claim none of the predictions have happened. And the stupidest say that because there is disagreement over how fast changes will occur, or how serious the changes will be, or how long we have to make changes to slow the increase, that none of it is true.
Here's your problem. You say that glacier sizes have decreased by whatever amount, and that may very well be true. I don't care enough to research it for myself, so I accept it as true. Then I ask, "What does all this mean?" And you guys tell me that it means a specific thing that will happen within a specific time period - and then it doesn't happen.

Amazingly there are huge swaths of land in Canada, Alaska, and Russia that are too cold to sustain large populations but might open up as the Earth warms. By my calculations, being a professor and all, we have exactly 2.8 million years until we're living in beautiful, tropical Antarctica. No worries mate! This is only part of your problem- you believe your own BS. No one said a specific thing is going to happen in a specific time. You made that up in your own little mind. The earth will get warmer- it has already gotten warmer. Science predicts deeper seas from melting ice, and stronger storms due to the greater temp differentials between day and night, poles and tropics and months of total darkness vs 24 hours of daylight. Heat rises- that is a science fact that deniers don't even want to acknowledge.

This board will solve this issue. Let’s get it done. Science DEM. Judge Jennie REP.A lot of ignorant people say that we could move to colder regions further north as the earth warms. Thats is really ignorant. First off, the months of near total darkness limit growing crops like hard red winter wheat. And next, just because northern Canada may be warmer in summer, because of 24 hours of darkness in mid winter, it is still going to get very cold. As I tried to explain before, but wasn't understood, thermodynamics will make weather more extreme- with more wind and potentially much more precipitation or much less, or even both- massive snowstorms in the frigid winter, and massive drought the other nine months. We have a climate we can live in now. Spending trillions and trillions to move the human population north is a stupid idea. Better off spending less money to just mass produce solar panels and battery storage and reduce the emissions that would force such a dumb move towards the poles.
Boy, you are liberal. Absolutely no sense of humor. Just the thought of all of humanity piling on to Antarctica should have been your first clue.A lot of ignorant people say that we could move to colder regions further north as the earth warms.
