In 1976 I paid $33,000 for a house on 20 acres. I sold it in 2002 for $165,000. We always lived within our means. Last year my house now was valued at $365,000. This year the county raised the value to $504,000.$20 in 2001 is equal to $33.84 today.
The median price of a home was $143k in 2001 and it is $382k today.
