The possibility that Trump might come into office and tell the Israelis they can do whatever they want if hostages aren't being returned is likely a good motivator for Hamas to seek terms while they've still got a sympathetic US administration to work with.
The opposite, Hamas has been willing to deal for months now, Trumps envoy literally told Netanyahu the war party is over and to accept the deal

If you knew the Israelis, you’d know that they have limited concern about what the US or any others “allow” them to do.
They can “turn Gaza into a parking lot” and they will, if they ultimately decide they must to ensure their longevity. If the US cuts off $, we’ll quickly give it back if needed plus we’ll forget about it in a few years.

The whole middle east needs to be made into a parking lot.

Israel violates the ceasefire

Hamas is already violating the ceasefire terms.

Truce start time passes as Netanyahu says ceasefire ‘will not begin’ until Hamas lists hostages to be freed

"The deadline for fighting in Gaza to end at 8:30 a.m. local time (1:30 a.m. ET) on Sunday has arrived but Israel’s prime minister says the ceasefire “will not begin” until Hamas releases a list of hostages to be freed.

Hamas said it remained committed to the agreement, and blamed “technical” reasons for the delay, according to a statement on Sunday morning."

Guy on FOX said the problem may be that Israel has killed most of the Hamas leadership. Hamas may be having trouble coordinating things.

When has Hamas ever been serious about a deal? They don't want peace so when they do negotiate they are just stalling for time to get ready for their next attack.

All those people know is war and fighting. If they were not at war they would feel useless. It’s all they have ever known.

Releasing 33 hostages over a 6 week time span????
Only idiots like Biden think this is a good & legitimate deal.
There’s other ways to motivate Hamas…
