you should learn about it like your religion depends on it

i would say policing, mortgages, schools, jobs
hmmmm.... so police don't like black people, mortgage companies don't want to give black people loans, schools don't take students because of their skin color, and black people can't get jobs? All simply because of the color of their skin with no other reason?

400 years of slavery is a LONG time. Dido talking about them ruining their own culture, they were robbed of building a culture naturally in society. Think of your moms entire life being a slave and raped and sold, and your grandmother, and your great grandmother, and your great great grandmother

Then after that you’re “freed”. Not willingly though. Half the country fought a literal war with the other half of the country to be able to continue having you as a slave, and they lost and had no choice (but you still have stupid racist pusillanimous today waving that flag)

Then after you’re forcibly freed, you are segregated for another 60 years. Not allowed to live in the same neighborhoods, or use the same schools and not able to get the same education or resources

That type of stuff is traumatic generationally. And just because laws says you can’t discriminate, people don’t stop changing how they feel. You don’t stop feeling how you were told to feel about yourself for almost 500 years. You still see plenty of idiots on this site saying the same racist rhetoric.

When everyone else gets a 500 year head start, it’s stupid to expect to be at the same place at the same time

Darn, I guess I need to go and let my next door neighbors know. I mean they are retired and living in this nice neighborhood and own their own house. Maybe I need to let the two black co workers that had routes on either side of mine, both who are also retired and doing well for themselves. Maybe I need to let the black guys I grew up with know. One of them is a chef in a nice restaurant. Another one is a millionaire now from owning his own travel agencies. And yet another one has worked at UPS for about 10 years. They didn't get your memo. Then maybe I'll write all the black members of Congress and state leadership positions to watch out; the racist system is out to get them

400 years of slavery, 60 years of segregation in one country, and you’re going to deny systemic racism lmao
just because laws says you can’t discriminate, people don’t stop changing how they feel.

Let's say you're right. How are black people being systemically discriminated against in 2025 because of those feelings?

You don’t stop feeling how you were told to feel about yourself for almost 500 years.

Segregation ended 61 years ago. How should we stop that feeling if it still lingers within black people? Might it be fair to set a target date of 2214 for accomplishing that? 250 years after the end of segregation?

When everyone else gets a 500 year head start, it’s stupid to expect to be at the same place at the same time

Are you more advantaged than others because of what your great grandfather did? Are many people?

Your timeline is off. When they were freed the segregation went on in the South for close to 100 years. But many blacks went north and got jobs. Made good money in the auto industry for example. The point is that over time society.integrated to the point now that young black men are dating and marrying young white women without getting lynched. People have learned to live and let live. At what point do you continue to punish whites today for what their ancestors did? Especially considering the ancestors of many whites didn't arrive until decades after the Civil War. Forcing companies to hire on the basis of skin color is reverse discrimination. If a black man or woman is the most qualified then they should be hired. To hire them over all over races in spite of much more qualified people of other races applying is to force mediocrity and in some cases, like air traffic controllers or pilots, it can be extremely dangerous. If blacks or other races want those positions then let them get the training and experience that qualifies them for a position. Same goes with punishing kids who worked extremely hard in high school to excel and are passed over in Ivy League schools in favor of blacks with C averages. Has happened quite a bit. Called equity. And the group punished most tend to be Asian American kids whose parents prioritize study and good grades. All DEI is doing is garnering votes by laying guilt trips for past sins. And causes more problems than it solves.

Your country has a history of discrimination against native peoples. You are flat out wrong in saying that the way things used to be are the way they are today.

I'm not denying the country's history. I do feel that things are not like that now on a systemic level. Or am I just lucky to know the only people who slipped through the cracks and are living good lives

I'll ask my congresspeople to give Ricky's stolen land back to the natives after the annexation.
