I miss the days when a reliever came in and finished the job with 3 or more innings to get a save , like Gossage , Fingers , Tekulve, Stanley , those were hard earned saves , game changed with guys like the Eck coming in for one inning! Save Totals began to skyrocket with him , Jeff Reardon and say lee smith , all great pitchers though ,,and yes @MyTripisCut , the great #42
