Re: You are all wrong

Listen, I worked for this guy for years he is fair and a great person to work for. He makes you work yeah, but you become a better person for it. Now everyone can concentrate on what's important your job.
:dissapointed:Just curious about a couple things ....are you the perfect driver who follows EVERY method and can quote the 5 seeing habits, the 8 keys to lifting and lowering, the 10 pt. commentary, and 5 keys for slips and falls WORD for Word, because if you aren't this guy would fire you in a heartbeat for looking at him the wrong way....you cant be serious!!:dissapointed:

You arent allowed to sit down if you feel sick and feel like passing out?

Sure you are! It seems it just has to be with management's OK.

My first time with UPS, I almost had heat-stroke or heat-exhaustion (I forget which). The sort manager happened to walk by, saw me looking wrong and escorted me to an air-conditioned room with plentiful cold water. He made me sit in there for 20-30 minutes before I could re-enter service. When I did, it was with my p/t supe keeping an eye on me and a new UPS water-bottle full to the brim with water. I was ready for a reaming from my friend/t'er but it never came. I told my p/t supe to check with the sort manager about deducting the time I was in the 'cooling room.' Whether it would have been legal or not is immaterial to me. The sort manager refused to deduct the time. -Rocky

This guy actually dismantled the picnic tables that were outside the bldg where the workers had an outdoor place to eat or take a break. He felt that UPS has a breakroom in the bldg and it will not be wasted space. He is a neat freak. If there aren't any already, he will install video cameras and then watch the tapes to see who is or isn't working. i.e stealing time

Once again, THANK GOD this guy is gone. I've already seen a "calm" around our building. Noone is looking over their shoulders, or holding their head down while this guy was in our building. It was like the scene out of the Wizard Of OZ, when the wicked witch was killed by Dorothy, all the little Munchkins where singing and having a great time!! DING DONG THE WICKED *ITCH IS GONE!! :peaceful:

Partly.
I was fired because months earlier I was writing up and handing out grievances like halloween candy and shortly after one of the big bosses "caught" me sitting down because I was sick after sweating it out after unloding a trailer in the summer. (long story, dont want to go into it too much as to not release my identity). Had the big 'ole X mark, so they wanted to push me around and then some for the grieving. This was a second "offense" in 1-2 months after the grieving streak, (other one was not having a loadstand with me in the trailer, WhEN THERE WERE NO LOADSTANDS LEFT IN THE BUILDING lol) so apparently the warning letter I didn't sign the first time and this new offense was cause for firing.

Surely the managers knew I had just done my DOT and road test and the steward that was present made mention of the full-time position I was going into. That was definitly a factor to the whole "scare tactic" :whiteflag:

sorry for the OT.

You shuld have filed a grievence for lack of proper safety equipment - NO Load stands

I agree. The sort manager was from the 'old school.' What a guy. I had a lot of respect for him. I worked something like 7.5 hours one day (long story) and was perfectly willing to leave at 5 to avoid charging him overtime. I told him my friend/t'er would go atmospheric when he got the overtime bill. He just smiled and said, "He'll never know. I'm the sort manager. I'm taking your timecard from him tonight. He won't see how many hours you work this week OR the overtime." I reluctantly agreed to his request--and it was a request--to keep working. I came in the next day and ran into the sort manager right outside the cafeteria. I asked if he'd gotten the bill for my overtime for the night before. He smiled and said, "Yeah, I got it. You were worth every penny." I worked something like 12 hours of overtime that week. Not so much as a peep from my friend/t'er. -Rocky

Anyone hear anything of Bob P. getting busted for cocaine and being fired? This story has been spreading in our building and I'm curious as to its validity. Soooo sweet if it is true!!!!!!!!

Joe i heard same thing . It would be poetic justice if it is true. Anyone work in tampa ? He is or was a DM in Tampa. Please anyone that hears anything post it asap. You will make a lot of people happy. This guy was truly hated by both mgmt and hourlies.

Was anyone here invited to his going away party being held today (3/15/08) ?
They could only get a small room in Boston , so it was invitational only at $110 a ticket.

$110 bucks to say goodbye to a maroon,I would rather pay a crackhead the money to break his kneecaps, now that would be money well spent !!

Why would you come in contact with a division manager. I haven't said a word to one in my career.
AGREE. I've been with the company 24 years and I have never even talked to a Division Manager. I don't think they like to visit "CENTERS" because they might have to do some work.
