That migration works both ways. If you checked out any of the resorts on our 10,000 plus lakes or who owns all the lake cabins you would tend to believe that there wasn't anyone left living in Iowa, Mo, Ks, Il, from middle of may until middle of oct. As the cold drives us south during the winter - so does the heat a humidity drive others north in the summer. The only difference is that the Iwegens come up wearing a pair of bib overalls with a dollar bill in the pocket and go back home without changing either one. (just kidding)
