chick from reason tv, ceo of whole foods, guy from jacobin, and richard wolff my man debate is capitalism is a blessing or not

the 2 socialists want worker control, workers to be paid a dividend instead of a wage and to be owners.

Capitalism Is a Blessing

the richest 10% of americans have 2x the wealth of the bottom 90%.

in 1963, the top 1% had 25% of the wealth. in the 1980s it was 30 something percent.

he was a republican to the end? the party was different back then. its gone to the far right since bill clinton moved democrats to the right.
Bill Clinton didn't move Democrats to the right. He co-opted the Right's message in order to win the '96 election. And it was his Republican campaign consultant, Dick Morris, who got him to do it. And compare Abraham Lincoln's economic policies in 1864, or Barry Goldwater's in 1964, with today's Republicans. Pretty similar. Republicans were the party of civil rights, not Democrats. Democrats co-opted that message too, but if you look at their accomplishments over the last 60 years, they made a lot of promises to get votes, but didn't eliminate poverty and education is in a shambles in many places. But they are very good about pointing fingers and lying about opponents.

yea bill clinton did. he deregulated like a maniac including wall st, and cut govt funding to programs like welfare, and passed NAFTA which is the biggest anti worker betrayal in 50 years. he raised corporate dollars on par with his opponents.

But he didn't move the Democrats to the right. Congress was controlled by the Republicans the last 6 years of Clinton's presidency.

You're for violence. King wasn't.
nope. im not completely against it, but usually violence is premature. i havent heard enough from the guys i listen to, but they rarely mention being in favor of violence. hedges is no pacifist, but hes always encouraging non violent civil disobedience.

yes he did and i just laid it out. clinton took the democrats to the corporate watering hole. reagan moved the country right as well. modern republicans dont compare to eisenhower. btw whats congress approval rating? the govt doesnt work anymore. it only passes favorable corporate legislation like TPP which it would have done had Trump not got elected.

It's humorous that you think that getting funds from corporations and Wall Street is an issue of the Right.
