I understand the inflationary pressures put on the greenback. You can go back and pick any arbitrary date to manipulate numbers. But am living in today's markets. I have to buy today's houses, today's cars, and today's boats. And pay today's labor prices, today's attorney fees, and today's taxes.
i found it for you. this whole video is a must watch. start at 745 for the real wage. he says the average worker would earn roughly double if wages stayed with productivity.

theres a real good video with richard wolff with graphs and everything ill find it

heres a more current article from david cay johnston. so it sounds like they finally are rising again. wont be long because the country is overdue for another recession.

After 15 Flat Years, American Wages Are Finally Really Rising

In 2013, the median wage increased by $111. That figure tripled in 2014 as the median wage grew by $332. It more than tripled again in 2015, rising by $1,074.

i thought this quote was interesting:

"The wage growth in this century all came after top income tax rates were increased by Congress at the urging of President Obama, who kept tax rates for everyone but the top earners unchanged. That’s not to suggest higher taxes cause higher wages, but rather than decades of data show a relationship in which the median and average wage tend to rise in real terms when tax rates at the top go up and to flatten or fall when they go down, bringing into question the dogma that taxes are always and everywhere bad for the economy and incomes."

Malcolm X's warning about the corporate media is as true now as then. Think for yourself and stand against oppression everywhere!

I love being an hourly employee, less hours, more money. Virtually risk and stress free.

Punch in, punch out, go home.

My son is quickly figuring out the negative side of being a salaried employee. He has worked at least one day of each of the past 3 weekends and expects to work either today or tomorrow and, no, he will not receive any comp time as a result.

i really dont.

i hate taking orders all the time; it seems undemocratic. it feels like i should be participating in the decision making process. taking orders all the time reminds me too much of slavery and state socialism.

its also based on secrecy. i have no idea how much they profit off of my labor per hour.

the capitalist organization of work has negative outcomes which reverberate across the whole society. i feel like we are being lied to all the time in the media, schools, church, etc because they want to keep the money flowing from us to them.

You know @wkmac would jump in here and tell me how the US is not a real capitalist market and start links to back up his assertions.
Take my word, this will be easier on him and us too!
its true. chomsky says the same. its really a mix. they dont want free markets because they want as much money from the government as they can get.

stop "taking orders" and start your own business. Structure it anyway you want. Developed a business plan. Pitch it to a bank to get the capital. Any you'll be golden.
