Our center manager specifically told us during the PCM this morning that we were not allowed to idle our pkg cars to stay warm.
Your center manager is apparently a jerk.
Or, all your drivers are sheep.

Aluminum sheds heat very fast and there is virtually no insulation. It's unbelievable how quick these trucks lose heat when you take your lunch break.
That never happens that quick to anyone's personal vehicle.
It takes like 15 minutes of idling to get the heat back up to pre-lunch conditions.

I will be driving in today with the windows down. Just had to rub that in a bit.

We'll find out tomorrow morning if anyone decided to ignore his directive.
I would hope you all did. Reports be damned.
If the entirety of the United States moved to your neighborhood, what would living there be like?Once again, conclusive proof that nobody should live there.
never heard that one..what's the term? Swallow an elephant, choke on a gnat.
Our center manager drove for 12 years in Vermont so he is very familiar with working in the cold and snow. The directive was obviously coming from above his pay grade.
Ah gotcha. Looks like your center is where trucks go to die. That's an awful lot of dinosaurs in that pic.Different type of idle time, my engine is off.....
You don't need to do all that and buckling the seatbelt when you're not in it can be considered dishonesty as you're intentionally trying to deceive.I have been pulling it to a curb and turning my front wheels into it. Turn off the truck, get out of driver seat, buckle driver seat belt, turn on truck, shift into drive....chill
That is some serious polishable leather!View attachment 28237i have about twenty minutes of idle time after the PCM every morning. My P700 is blocked in by bigger cars and I can't move until most of the other drivers leave.
Has anyone been disciplined excessive ideal time. In our center a couple of guys have been called out on it but I don't think anything has happened. Also it isn't about saving fuel it's about tracking production.
