Immigration

I spent three months in the interior of Mexico and about 5 years on the Mexican border. Mexico is a lot more developed than you think. And yes, according to the government, more than half of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border are now from Central America. Especially from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
mexico life expectancy is 1 year less than america, but america is 4 years less than canada which means for profit healthcare, etc. so i mean yea thats pretty high.

NAFTA's big agriculture destroyed mexicos domestic farmers.

I've got an old Guinness Book Of Records from 1972. Under the category of immigration it says that in the US at that time 30% of the population of the US was illegal immigrants. We should have built that wall years ago.
According to the Five Civilized Tribes records, 99% of the U.S. population are illegal immigrants. And even those native people were immigrants.

Your argument is specious.

Have you travelled around Mexico and seen all of the American stores and restaurant chains that are there because of NAFTA?
Are you familiar with the word anecdotal?

I've been to Mexico, that doesn't have anything to do with macro economics.

A 30 second Google search could have prevented you from looking so clueless about the reality of NAFTA's effect on Mexico's labor market and immigration to the US.

ok well thats understandable but thats no excuse not to do anything

sometimes you gotta blend in or dial it down...especially for US border patrol
It always comes down to the pesky border patrol for you. We are racist, homophobic, Nazi's here. Why do you persist in attempting to enter?

I can't speak for everyone else but I bet the vast majority of them came through Ellis Island--------------legally.
yea but the immigration laws change over time so its not an equal comparison.

just because something is legal doesnt mean its right.

the conservatives on BC have no immigration ideology aside from the fact that it must be legal, not exactly suprising.

There is a big difference between illegal immigrants and conquering nations. We won the Indian wars, the Mexican War and a few others. Sucks to lose.

Actually they haven't, elected officials and Federal judges have just determined not to enforce, and produce new "judicial" tyranny.

So you're saying it's better to conquer, steal, enslave, rape and pillage then it is to enter illegally and work to become a productive member of this nation?
