“land of the free” right ??

Yes, I'm sure free education and free healthcare are what Francis Scott Key had in mind as he wrote that part of our national anthem in 1814 when he was aboard the British ship HMS Tonnant to negotiate a prisoner release.

China is ruled by communists. Which is partially why @rickyb and Current Events hard leftists remain their lapdogs. They love communists. Communists are the best! Long live daddy Xi!

And I haven't been referring to their economic reforms. I know the country has a socialist market economy, which is based on the predominance of public ownership and state-owned enterprises within a market economy. It's probably what you want for America but you're never going to get it.
a socialist market economy wouldnt have employees just co-owners who are also workers. off the top of my head anyways. got nothing to do with govt.

i recall hearing analysis on china from david harvey and richard wolff, the working conditions are quickly improving (unlike some continents!) but they are by no means free and neither are we.. i think they have us beaten though, and i dont even like our system.

China's socialist market economy, in which the public/state owns most enterprises, is only in place because the Chinese government is a communist dictatorship that demands that model be used.

when you live in a dictatorship you still have power as a citizen but it becomes more difficult to exercise it vs a democracy.

but the workers wages have risen several X so in some ways they are probably very supportive of their govt.

You have power to be shot down in the street when protesting.

China just barred online gamers under the age of 18 from playing on weekdays and limited their play to just three hours most weekends. Your talk of Chinese citizens having any sort of power is laughable.

Nothing in there indicates to me that the US is worse than the communist Chinese dictatorship.

Who did Trump supposedly assassinate anyway? You know I've got no love for the guy.

americans get assaulted by police sometimes when they protest, shot at maybe not killed probably sometimes.

Usually because they're being :censored2:wad idiots. Not because they're merely exercising their constitutional rights.

There's a real difference between the actual freedoms accorded to US citizens and Chinese citizens. Sorry. Your trying to put the two countries on the same level because of what you personally consider to be freedom or lack thereof is very strange.

Cops at protests are indeed typically protecting the property and lives of those who work for a living.

Your kind of protestors are able to do nothing but protest specifically because they don't work for a living.
ive protested with people who likely have jobs. i protested next to former class mates who went to law school.

can you imagine you believe what you so as to make you not protest and simply turn you into a passive consumer of information?
