We were sending the money because our elected representatives determined it was in the national interest. Trump tries to overrule them for his own personal gain.

And Obama refused to send Ukraine military aid because he was in Putin's pocket. And his boy Biden got his quid pro quo to make his kid a millionaire.

Presidential Medal of Freedom to Mitt Romney. A true American hero.
I'm actually quite glad that Trump was acquitted. Why? The fruits of a president's policies good or bad often ripen in his second term.
In addition Trump has created an entire new set of historical and judicial precedents and by doing so he's done a "UUUGE" favor for future presidents. They can now do whatever they damn well please under the guise of "executive privilege" and " public interest" knowing he'll never be challenged by a Senate whose members will be forever focused on saving their jobs rather than doing theirs jobs giving those future presidents power that borders on dictatorial.

As for Romney. In keeping with his playing both ends against the middle he voted for one article but against the other. Now it has been mentioned that if Biden and his expected running mate Klobuchar beats Trump/Pence RBG retires replaced with Kamala Harris and Romney gets Secretary of State. When you've run a hedge fund you're always putting you and your opportunity for massive riches personal, economic and political ahead of everyone else.

Of course not. I'm looking forward to how future presidents will use the Trump legacy to become the equivalent of a monarch and a dictator and some will be Democrats. If he or she acts in the same reckless and self serving manner any attempts by congressional and senate Republicans to haul him in he'll simply use the Trump get out of jail free card.

The history of the Donald Trump presidency has not yet concluded. It's impact will be felt decades after he's left office and it may not serve the nation well.

A hysterical reaction to a President doing the same thing his previous predecessors have done.

I wasn’t surprised Romney voted against Article 2. That charge was a joke and anyone who hasn’t pledged fealty to the Democrats can see and acknowledge it.

nowhere special
Romney tried to straddle the fence by splitting his votes. He also tried to cover his butt by changing his vote on article 2 in an attempt to keep his job next election.

He’s not up until 2024. Trump won’t be on the ballot. God willing the Republican Party will be moving on from him by then.

That it didn't turn out the way you hoped is because the Dems never had a case to begin with. They're the ones who politicised impeachment and it backfired on them. Now they're paying a political price.
