Read Wikipedia's "Origin of the Palestinians." They are very much a mixture of people who lived there before, very possibly the Philistines of the Bible, and the Arabs that moved into the area in the 7th Century.

And if you examine what you said you were saying the Arabs only were a small part of their genetic makeup. The article in Wikipedia indicates a much greater Arabic heritage. As do other websites if you Google it.

Think of it this way. In northern Italy the Italians are very much white European. In southern Italy, as well as in Greece, Spain, and Portugal, whites are darker complected. Why? Hundreds of years of Moorish domination.
