I mean seriously call me when Georgia is allowing the whites to come vote on Sunday and the blacks are barred by police officers, I’ll be right there with you fighting voter suppression.

The poll, released on Wednesday by Rasmussen Reports, found that 75% believe photo identification should be presented before voting and that 69% of black voters support voter ID laws.

Republicans across the country saw an election with high turnout that resulted in them losing seats. They had a few options. Persuade voters that their terrible ideas are actually good and win their votes, or try to limit the voting access of people that vote against them. You can pretend it just happens to be all their proposed laws disproportionately affect urban black voters but it’s not very convincing.

The original contention is that closing polls for everybody on Sunday was racist. Maybe there are a lot of Christians in the government, maybe the poll workers want to go to church instead of handling government work. It might of started as a way to suppress the black Christian vote, I don’t know, but I don’t see that as a reason to say it’s still in place to suppress the black vote.

It’s not currently in place. Republicans in Georgia have proposed closing early voting on Sundays to suppress the black vote that has built a tradition of voting on Sundays. It’s targeted specifically to suppress that black vote. The republicans openly admit it and offer no other explanation for the proposed change.

your argument is blatantly racist and insulting to black people.

Ope, I misunderstood you -- I'm sorry, it's current events. I thought you were referring to the tweet itself as a Jim Crow sequel, not the attempt to disenfranchise people, now I follow what you're saying. I would add: ultimately corporations are indifferent to anything besides profit.

Maybe a large portion of republicans concerned about our election, maybe if you don’t pass voter ID laws and tighten up the voting booth, you won’t win re-election, but no we instantly got to jump to black people are victims and the republicans are evil racists.

When that’s what republicans say they are trying to accomplish why would we doubt them? They openly admit too many black people vote so they are trying to stop that. Closing the polls on Sunday has nothing to do with election security.

So you have a quote saying their intention of doing this is to keep blacks out of the voting booth?

The whole fight against the voter ID push is a bunch of crap. Who in this country doesn’t have an iID of some sort? You need an ID to cash a check, go to the doctor, apply for any credit, travel, etc. Anyone who doesn’t have an ID at this point is probably illegal anyway and can’t vote (except maybe in California).

I would like to see where they flat out said they were trying to make these changes because “too many black people vote”. I don’t believe it.

Even if they are doing it to suppress black voters, he sees them as black voters, I’m sure the people doing it just see them as democrat voters, which are horrible people, I wish the law made it so if you vote democrat the machine punches you in the nuts. But no it’s instantly got to be a white supremacy thing.

I never liked dragging uninformed people to the polls, even if they are voting for my guy. I don’t want to get stupid people involved in voting, unlike democrats, who think it’s fine to drag uninformed people to the polls to have their say in the matter. If these people truly wanted to vote, they still can, this just cuts down on the amount of morons showing up out of social pressure.
