This is all very dangerous for representative governance, because any political party trying to limit the pool of voters is dangerous. I have always said that Americans should be paid to vote. Like give every voter like $100 dollars when they vote. I want to motivate and get all eligible Americans to vote, all of us. I truly want a representative electorate where we all participate.

But clearly, there was never a concern about voting integrity, Republican elected officials were taking their cues from a lot of Republican voters, that young voters, black voters and democratic voters had cheated somehow and elected Obama, and ever since then Republican efforts at “election integrity protections” have been laser focused at targeting those specific voters by making it more difficult for them to vote. By closing polling places where they live, by limiting the days to early vote, by limiting the hours where early voting places are open, by throwing more of those voters off of voter rolls, and now they are targeting voting by mail because they view that as having contributed to incompetent, corrupt, and unpopular trump losing.

I don't recall it being said that Obama won by cheating. Obama had huge crowds of enthusiastic supporters. No, it was Democrats who repeatedly said Trump won in 2016 by cheating with Russian help. Clinton all through Trump's term called him illegitimate, that he cheated.

As for election laws coming about, Republican legislators are tightening rules to insure election integrity. Democrats of course can't stand this because there's little opportunity to skirt the rules. These are the same rules everyone has to abide by. So of course they're claiming discrimination. You have courts to remedy that if truly the case. Pretty much every election Dems claim voter suppression but mysteriously never file lawsuits or win the ones they do file.

Some Republican voters, not all. You like to paint all Republicans the same way. But whether he was eligible isn't the same as cheating to win, which you said Republicans said he won by cheating. He clearly beat McCain, and Republicans didn't turn out for Romney. And if Republicans had focused on election integrity there wouldn't have been so many unusual occurrences in the last election. That Republican legislators in Republican controlled states are NOW tightening up procedures is what has Democrats crying foul.

I said they didn't believe his win was legal. republican voters believed the irrational conspiracy theory that Obama was a secret muslim plant. Come on man open your eyes. That's an insane thing to believe yet most republicans believed it. Again you can check the record of when republican voters and republican elected officials started focusing on "election integrity". It was following President Obama's election.
