republicans have been a destructive force in national politics for a very long time, they support disastrous wars like Iraq, they support disastrous economic policies like tax cuts for the wealthy and banking de regulation that lead to a gigantic recession, and because their actual policies aren't popular with the public, they have been running on telling voters that they'll make sure the groups of Americans their voters hate won't benefit from the government and phony culture war bs, and recently white nationalism. republican voters are obsessed with easily disproven conspiracies about an all powerful left that is out to destroy them.
All of those factors are leading the republican party to become anti-voting, anti-democracy. They wrote a law in which it is a crime to give people waiting in line to vote, a bottle of water. That kind of stuff doesn't protect voting integrity but they hope it will cause fewer people to vote as they try to create long lines for voters. This is all very dangerous stuff. Republicans will try to invalidate an election they lose by throwing out thousands of votes of Americans. As a nation we are in trouble. this bill is very bad.
