Does the new strike fund have the 1 week wait to get the check?
In my local, we have a supplemental strike fund, that we've been paying in since just after the last strike. Don't know what that pays in addition.
What exactly is 5 x hourly dues rate?Strike benefits are based on 5x your hourly dues rate, the international strike fund in upwards of $180 million in assets
Teamsters Increase Strike Benefits
And if your local participates in the Ohio Strike Fund it currently has $12 million in assets

As @Wideload said, if there is a strike it probably won’t last long, but if it did, the strike fund will be wiped out in 2 weeks. $180+ million sounds like a lot, but when you divide it by 250-300 thousand UPS employees, it doesn’t go very far.
not quite that many employees.

Math is hard.Seriously?
5 x (insert your hourly rate here) = $x per week.

I’m looking at 542. Pulse the 9k I’ve set aside. I can deal with a 12 week strike without a hiccup.
Seriously?

I owe you an apology----I read that wrong.
Our dues rate is 3 x our hourly and is about $100 so I guess 5 x dues rate would be $500.
I'm sorry for the tone of my previous post.
According to the press release..... "The minimum out of work benefits will rise to $150 per week, an increase from $100. And, benefits will be paid at the end of the 8th day, previously paid at the end of the 11th day. "I thought someone said the strike fund would pay about 550 a week earlier.
