I have $10k in paychecks sitting in my sock drawer. Live checks. It’s s matter of perspective. 32K in cash reserves won’t get me far.

As long as we can survive 2 weeks, we are golden21 months ago, they said there was 153 million in the fund.
Any lengthy UPS strike would destroy that, LOL
97 I got hit in the head with a rock while delivering a stop. Have the scar from the stiches to prove it and fine fellow who tossed it got a nice assault charge.
Never understood a teamster posting in a management forum either.During a strike it does come from the teamsters. Never have unstood management that posts in a union forum
Looks like you!
And who wears the brown shirts? The company only pays us anything because slavery is illegal, workers collective action fought for the FLSA (among other pro-worker laws), and the union bargains for a fair compensation package.
Otherwise the brown shirt nazis (and the rest of Corporate America) would enslave us.

In this sense it's not literal brown shirts, but the figurative ones. And who wears the brown shirts?
Geez what a dufuss!
I know you are new here but the TOS doesn’t allow for this type of postAnd who wears the brown shirts?

Didn't think ahead just a little? ... a UPS driver calling calling anyone a Brown Shirt is ironic and plain just funny. In this sense it's not literal brown shirts, but the figurative ones.
You're welcome
everyone should have there own strike fund. i always saved money for that reason. if you make 100k a year and don't put anything away for a potential strike , it's your own damn fault. i never counted on the strike fund.21 months ago, they said there was 153 million in the fund.

Come September after a new contract all of my savings are going directly into a college savings fund, the potential for a strike means I cannot declare my paychecks as student savings. Its a bummer since I will lose $800 in FAFSA funding as a direct result.everyone should have there own strike fund. i always saved money for that reason. if you make 100k a year and don't put anything away for a potential strike , it's your own damn fault. i never counted on the strike fund.

I’m looking at 542. Pulse the 9k I’ve set aside. I can deal with a 12 week strike without a hiccup.
And you have the actual data to prove that? Even though in theory you might be right its still speculation! And I don't think we will have a work stoppage but the threat of one should be serious! Give me the math data and I will smartass!
That was 11 years ago. I could stay out longer. 9k is my personal strike fund. I do have a savings account too. I’m also married to a lady that makes as much as I do. Do you really think a UPS strike (if happens), in this day and age, with what’s on the line, would go on longer than 7 days?Stop buying $4K dogs and you could afford to stay out much longer.

Is that a good idea?
I thought they had an expiration date?
