In 2015 the media circus they called the Presidential Debate stage, where as many ten candidates supposedly "debated", while in reality most questions were only answered by two candidates, as the others hoped for an opportunity on the next question (which seldom happened) was what shaped the field for the POTUS election.
It was this slanted, moderator manipulated debate stage that created Trump as a viable candidate, consistently giving him a disproportional amount of time to the rest of the field, in the name of TV ratings and profits.
It was only after it was too late, that they tried to tear him back down, while the Democrats picked the wrong horse too.
