They say the skin of burn victims often looks like pizza. Something to think about.
I love pizza. Nothing will stop me. I've already seen autopsy photos. Now I gotta sit in for a real..in person autopsy. Well see I guess.

She said photos:lol:
It's a start. If you can't handle photos you definitely won't handle it in real life. I've seen a body before in person..my brother. I have not seen a decaying body but I would like to. I really want to visit the body farm and I'm sure I'll be dealing with cadavers as well.

I can't fathom a person looking forward to seeing a decaying body. All cadavers I've dealt with were still drawing breath.

I'm guessing the smell of rotting flesh helps remove the humanity

You read wrong. Have you ever smelled raw spoiled hamburger? Now mix that with sour milk and a fresh steaming pile of pig poop and you will be close.
You're in for a big awakening.
I wouldn't call it a "rude awakening". Everyone who goes into the field is eased into the smell and the sight of decaying/mutilated bodies. It fascinates me. Obviously it isn't something people just take a liking to in one moment. It takes time. Medical Examiners go through 10+ years of schooling. I will only be doing 3.5 years. I will only be transporting bodies to the M.E. and providing information and photos of the body (at the place of death) to the M.E. to help them determine manner and cause of death. I probably will have to sit in for a few autopsies. I am nervous about that because you never how queasy you are until it happens. Even Medical Examiners with years of experience get nauseous with some of the patients they autopsy because they experience things that they never have before. You can die in so many ways. Very interesting.

Hawk, I said "big" awakening, not rude. I'm not trying to dampen your desires, only offering they may change once you are fully engaged. No big deal though, almost every one changes majors or fields of interest. I hope it works out for you nonetheless.

Oh my bad. I can't read apparently. I won't change my major. I'm too old now. I've done it like 5 times already. lol
