It’s estimated that some males have 16 million direct descedants, like genghis khan.
A small portion of gay males is not gonna crash a species. A portion of males that engage in both straight and gay sex will definitely not crash a species.

Who said they all have to be straight? But we're talking about animals. There's no such thing as a gay animal. I've observed plenty of dogs over the years that tried to get it on with another of the same sex. They aren't seeking pleasure. They're acting on instinct that's been triggered somehow. The same male will try to mount a female in heat.

I think culturally it's the same as what many males do in Mexico. Many married men there will go out drinking and end up doing some guy in a bathroom stall. If they're the one doing the screwing they don't even consider it gay. Then they go home to the wife. Only animals don't even go through a thought process. To say that some male animals are exclusively gay is just ignorant. And as there has never been a gay gene found in spite of many efforts to do so I'm a lot more confident in my argument than I think you are in yours. Think about it, the entire human genome has been mapped out yet in spite of research no gay gene has been found. As I've pointed out before the most important aspect of evolution is procreation. Any behavior that doesn't lead to reproduction is a evolutionary dead end.
