That’s not what early Christians believed about heaven because they didn’t have a concept of a soul the same way we do. That’s why Jesus is a zombie that rose from the tomb and the book teaches you you will be a zombie that will rise for zombie Jesus’s zombie army.

If you are going to move goal posts so much, I just think we should discuss where the original goal post was at, with early Jewish Christian thinkers believing the second coming was gonna happen within their life time and that heaven was going to be eternal life with Jesus on earth.

Curiously, why would you assume it’s torture? I would think, forcing you to go to heaven would be torture since you have no desire to be there. Maybe it’s just a perception problem. A God that would force you to be with him through eternity which seem to be a punishment when you didn’t want to be with him when you were alive.
