Local 804 Drivers Walked Out

The sad part is that you are a retiree who has long since left the company yet you can't find anything better to do with your time than to spend it on an Internet forum talking about a company that you no longer work for telling stories of a company that no longer exists. That to me is the definition of pathetic.
So a retired person wanting to keep up on the company that they used to work for is worse than someone who puts in 40+ hours in at the company, then comes on the here and comments on things that he has no interest in.

Actually the maroon in question was going after cars that had stopped in traffic after voicing their displeasure at our work stoppage. This is one of the many reasons I only spent the one day on the line.
What do you mean going after? Damaging the cars or just acting tough? If he damaged cars then he should have been arrested. Don't need that kind of stuff.

I had a much different experience at the 97 strike. We had nothing but good reaction to it, and was given bread, and drink from other union companies. Even the little mom and pop restaurant down the street handed out sandwiches. I only got the leftovers since I had the late shift. Had a bunch of horns honked in support even on the late/early shift.

I love Rod. He needs to be on this forum for 99.9% of us to get the real experience. I've gotten where I have union wise by watching and taking note of history. Guys like Rod make me feel at home on this forum. He is a great member. I hope he never never ever stops posting until he passes away and I hope that's not for at least another 35 years.

Alternative definition of pathetic.....Big Dave wants to go see the Lego movie but doesn't want to be the creepy guy alone at a kid movie. Hello Kettle?? This is Pot....you're black! P.S. I like Rod....he's funny.

He's probably busily preparing his popcorn tub with the hole in the bottom as we speak.

Liam lead his troops to termination mostlikely, in this wild cat strike. I give the drivers credit for their courage but the "smartest" BA in the hall made a dumb decision. The company is still mad about the Melville incident and want terminations and hefty fines.

If these drivers get fired because of Liam's actions will we as a union pick up their salaries as we did for the 2 Melville stewards?

200 drivers x $80,000 = $16mil a year

But don't worry, just don't pay the medical bills to save money. Oh yeah, you are already doing that!

I was on the picket line in '97 for two weeks. Weekends included. Were you? If you were you were one of the guys crying let us vote. I have a house payment.
I was on that line but I had money for my house payment. I was on workers comp and also received strike pay. I was one of the few that would take the night shifts. If my center walked out Monday, I'd be the first to exit the door.

UPS wants blood but they'll pick and choose who they fire...all 200 won't get fired...you know that game. The Melville stewards got their jobs back....these guys will too. Rumor has it UPS will start with the 50 or so that went home on Wednesday.
