This move bye Liam is all about interpretation of contract language as you guys state! Our pension increase the same way! I do not believe it is a sure thing! You will blame the company when they say it can't be done! Just in case you say it is?? So the vote count and how they voted! We know the drill now, follow the guide below.

Thanks for that important info.You and Big D should make broken records together.Always putting a spin on negativity.If the hall did everything right there would still be a problem.The two of you are like the divide and conquer twins.Made me realize why I stopped coming to this site,i got tired of reading the constant negative B/S, its like a nonstop campaign commercial.

The language in Article 18, Section 4 of the Local 804 Supplement is pretty damn clear. There's just not a lot of room for an interpretation that differs from the intent. It's now not a matter of interpretation, but a matter of enforcement. Pretty much the same would apply to the pension increase issue. But what would you have suggested that our elected leaders do at the bargaining table, member 6045? Once they reached a tentative agreement on the pension issue, should they have then said, "ya know what UPS, we don't think you're really going to increase the pension. You're going to tell us it can't be done, so we're withdrawing our proposal for an increase. Hah, take that UPS!"

I gotta' tell ya', member 6045, you've got to stop chasing those demons around the playground of your mind like Don Quixote chasing windmills in the pasture! And as for your textbook list of 12? I'd just like to draw your attention to #4. While you and bigd may not have noticed, UPS does indeed suck!

I saw the clip from labor notes before it was pulled down! Tim said he brought members and gave 10k to the organization! Who chooses who goes? Because I have a few kool aide drinkers in my center that feel bad that they where not asked to go there free of charge!!
Imagine that... a local that wants to educate their rank and file members. Unthinkable to Old Guard mentality. As for who paid, I believe Local 804 has a Ron Carey Education Fund set up when they got in (like they promised when they ran) to take members interested in getting involved and educated. Members go to these conventions and seminars and go back to their centers energized and wanting to spread the good word how "they are not alone" ...there actually are others fighting the good fight. They learn strategies that other activist members and other activist locals use and they come back and apply them where they work. Its how you take back your local from the Old Guard. It worked here in local 804!!

Either you have political aspirations or you are just a total downer on everything. Your history on this site has been nothing but complaining and bitching about our TWICE elected E/B. I never hear a word about ups conduct or ups policies. You get a E/B who cuts its own salary...NOT GOOD ENOUGH. You get an E/B who expands coverage to all shifts...NOT GOOD ENOUGH. You get an E/B that gets you an increase in your pension and more FT jobs, etc...NOT GOOD ENOUGH. That stopped the bleeding of our health Funds...NOT GOOD ENOUGH. That actually stands up to management ...like Dave did in Melville...like Liam did in Maspeth. You did notice how all the drivers followed Liam without question!! They did that because they HAD ENOUGH with old school methods of dealing with management. They wanted new ideas and new methods to take on UPS. There might be some consequences to some of these actions BUT NOW UPS HAS TO WORRY EVERY TIME THEY DO ANYTHING AGAIN. There are consequences to both sides of this issue. Management has to learn to respect our contract and respect the members and appreciate all we contribute to the success of the company. Or else actions like this might start to become the norm. Are you listening Lousiville??

The pilots union wont cross the strike line. Can't wait to see how that all plays out.

It'll be double or nothing and then we'll see if the IBT sticks their nose in.
Wouldnt a strike have to be authorized by Hoffa, if so from the outside looking in he does not seem to be helping iron anything out with these supplements, so why would he authorize any strike against his buddies at UPS.He gave them unlimited time to work out the supplements.

Or. Or!!! TDU is just being strategic in its effort to put blame on the international when in fact it is solely on a TDU run local that jumped the gun for a TDU steward. Now 250 brothers are out on their azzzz. No doubt UPS is being extreme. But that is what you get for such an extreme action in protest. 6.8% unemployment rate in NY. With a 50/50 arbitration rate? Liam, your useless to members. Go home!!
