Mass Shooting Solutions

Mental capacity is a concern, I agree.

3. Compulsory military service (2 years) upon high school graduation or dropping out of school.

Mental capacity will be evaluated, firearm training will be exacted, MOS education will be a function of the compulsory service.

Let's be honest, most high school graduates that go to college have no idea what they want to do.
Most take federal loans or go to school on pell grants. A grant is a no pay, the left wants to forgive stuent debt today, it will only gain speed. It is one chance to get some value for the expenditure.

you can't stop mass shootings without either changing the culture or confiscating all guns

confiscation leads to civil war and tens of millions of dead; that is obviously not worth 124 people per year
I think you hit the nail on the head........changing the culture.
Just watched a documentary on Switzerland which I think has as many guns or more per capita than we do but they have a totally different culture. They are super strict on gun ownership . But Americans just don't wanna jump thru all the hoops......

That therein lies part of the problem. I have no issue with gun ownership or the 2nd amendment.
It is responsible gun ownership. We give out gun permits like they come out of a Jack in Box as a prize for anyone.

I can go to Reno and have an illegal gun within a few hours.
Just cruise 4th street.....( red light district )

Every military age male has a government issue, fully automatic, SigSauer rifle. The older men have semi auto rifles. It’s also a largely homogeneous population too. Not much “diversity”. Very well educated as well, the average Swiss speaks 3 languages, even 4. Starting to see a pattern? Oh and they’re religious people too.

literally no one trusts this government to do any logical type of gun control, so until the culture and government change, no one is interested

I like you folks that say you have no issue with the second amendment but then add qualifications.

"the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Which part do you not understand?

I want each and every person reading this thread to understand two things while you read these posts and formulate new or offer your previously held views.

The Second Amendment deals with two separate rights,

first

the right of the people to keep

secondly

and to bear arms

How many have a brain here and want to retain a Constitutional right? It has already been diminished and we stand where we are today. Not one damn unconstitutional Second Amendendment ruling has accomplished the purpose for which it was codified.

Just a question.

I do read the whole thing, I do understand the concept you portray.

Fact is, they provided a written constitution, the first eight are called the Bill of Rights. It's highly unlikely they didn't forsee changes in the future, so they precluded the later with,

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

You think much?
