democracy now reports censorship of twitter. its a major story.

They're saying there's currently censorship. It's not reporting if there's nothing specific to report.

If someone was banned was because they were threatening violence or some other violation of the terms of service?

No way to tell from reading anything on that site.

The reason for the bans would be like a step 2 thing for me. @rickyb 's "news" source here can't even make it to step 1.

Back then there were a lot more people agreeing that NPR was pretty neutral than there were blue haired people listening to the Soviet national anthem for fun and posting about Democracy Now.
