Depending on what job you do, there isn't always additional work to do to make an 8 hour shift, unless you want to go driving.
Works for peak season. It can work outside of peak.

No one ever said you should be able to support a family on a PT job, but at least it should pay enough to make it worth your time to show up. I bet when you started PT the job payed a lot more then minimum wage. I know it did when I started.A part time job isn't designed to support a family
Do you think unloading a trailer should make the same pay as driving?Yes because of the hours.
To say someone should make less a hour just because it's part time isn't the same.
A little over double. No one ever said you should be able to support a family on a PT job, but at least it should pay enough to make it worth your time to show up. I bet when you started PT the job payed a lot more then minimum wage. I know it did when I started.
Never used to be that way. FT and PT had similar wages to protect the FT jobs.Yes because of the hours.

How about small sort?
By 2022 yes but again that's one city. 90% of the country *drumroll* this is not a minimum wage job.
Triple when I started. About $.50/hr less then FT driver after 90 days.A little over double.
The other thing people forget when you are talking about minimum wage. Most of those jobs don't get annual rasies like we do.

Your pic didn't work. Copy paste doesn't work if that's what you're doing.
Do you think a porter emptying the trash cans and cleaning the toilets should make as much as a FT driver? They do in my building.Do you think unloading a trailer should make the same pay as driving?
How about small sort?
And why does a 22.3 make $30/hr loading a trailer and a PT makes $10/hr loading the same trailer?Do you think unloading a trailer should make the same pay as driving?

Seniority. Put your time in and bid that job. I didn't start my career here unloading trucks to be stuck doing they job forever. I wanted to get my foot in the door and get a chance to go driving and make some real money. And why does a 22.3 make $30/hr loading a trailer and a PT makes $10/hr loading the same trailer?
That's where the money is at.I'm too much of a psycho to drive.
That's where the money is at.
You want more money, I'm telling you how to get it.Do you think you're making a point?
