We have 2 brand new, 4 year progression, drivers that spend more time on layoff than being scheduled to work. We are all putting in over 50 and sometimes close to 60 hours weekly. The reason for this seemingly backward and costly plan is usually cited as "they said we can't add another route" or "we're out of people, we're using everyone that's available." If a driver retires, they are replaced, but no consideration is given to the volume increase or that summer is just around the corner with vacation related shortages looming.
