In The Electric Mist popped up on GetTV. Never heard of it. I checked and it was a 2009 French/American movie that only had limited release in Europe before going to DVD. Starring Tommy Lee Jones as a Louisiana cop it reminded me of No Country For Old Men. Plot was a bit confusing but interesting characters and I think its worth watching if you stumble across it.

Hidden Figures - Excellent movie !!

Storyline....
'As the United States raced against Russia to put a man in space, NASA found untapped talent in a group of African-American female mathematicians that served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history. Based on the unbelievably true life stories of three of these women, known as "human computers", we follow these women as they quickly rose the ranks of NASA alongside many of history's greatest minds specifically tasked with calculating the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and guaranteeing his safe return. Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Katherine Johnson crossed all gender, race, and professional lines while their brilliance and desire to dream big, beyond anything ever accomplished before by the human race, firmly cemented them in U.S. history as true American heroes."
1961-1962

I might have to check this one out. I have been avoiding it because I had heard that they had stretched the truth about these ladies actual involvement in the space program. Hollywood has been known to do that with their "true" stories.

I heard of those women but haven't seen the movie. I assumed it was slanted towards them but they still deserved to be remembered.

At the end of the movie they have the real pictures of the ladies involved. I also loved looking at the old cars.....turquoise T-Bird, Nash Rambler and '57 Chevy especially.

We just finished watching "SPLIT".....a film by M. Knight Shamalamadingdong.

"When three girls are kidnapped by a man with 23 different personalities, they have to work out which of those personalities will help them escape and which of those personalities will try to stop them."

I liked the movie. The actor was able to change his expressions and play the different characters.(James McAvoy)

We rented and watched "Sleepless" with Jamie Foxx. It was rated a 5.5 out of 10, but it was much better than that. The action never stopped. There is no way I could fall asleep during this movie. We both liked it. If you like action and crime, you'll like this one.

Watched Girl on the Train. It was OK but, it was hard to follow at first. There were 2 blonde characters, Megan and Anna and they looked a lot alike.
There were 3 guys to follow...a clean-shaven, a scruffy and a full bearded. Easy to know which is which in that case.

We watched a movie called The Assignment. I don't think I've ever seen this premise before. The assassin wakes up & had a sex change without his knowledge. Weird story.

KOG72

The aftermath of "Aftermath" is disappointment. Starring Arnold Schwa etc. I expected more .

"Two strangers' lives become inextricably bound together after a devastating plane crash. Inspired by actual events, AFTERMATH tells a story of guilt and revenge after an air traffic controller's (Scoot McNairy) error causes the death of a construction foreman's (Arnold Schwarzenegger) wife and daughter."

Not worth the rental $$.

Watched 2 movies today.

Nocturnal Animals was forgettable!!

Hell or High Water was pretty good.

"Following a series of armed robberies at a number of branches of Texas Midland Bank where very little money was taken, we learn that the motive of unemployed oil and gas worker Toby Howard (Chris Pine) and his brother -- just released from prison -- is to raise enough money to pay off the reverse mortgage that will forfeit their recently deceased mother's ranch if not paid off. Oil was discovered on the ranch and in order to secure the future of his sons and ex wife, Toby needs $43,000. After two of the robberies, curmudgeonly Texas Ranger Marcus Hamilton (Jeff Bridges) and his American Indian deputy partner pick up the trail and just miss foiling the next, and last robbery."
