Today, I watched the movie Heidi (1937) with Shirley Temple. Hard to believe that I remembered seeing an 80 year-old movie before. I did recognize Arthur Treacher in his role as the English butler. Remember the Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips??

"A plucky little orphan girl gets dumped abruptly into her gruff, hermit grandfather's care, then later gets retaken and delivered as a companion for an injured girl."

It was entertaining.

Cult of Chucky.....a real classic. I've seen all the Chucky movies......hooray Jennifer Tilly!!
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. That's a rave review in Chucky-land.

We watched "Big Sick" last night. It was ok, but I would have done it differently. It starred that Indian guy who played the side kick to Franklin & Bash.

Watched Baby Driver. Liked it. Lots of fast driving and drafting.
My favorite was the solid red Dodge Challenger near the end of movie.

Storyline.....
Baby is a young and partially hearing impaired getaway driver who can make any wild move while in motion with the right track playing. It's a critical talent he needs to survive his indentured servitude to the crime boss, Doc, who values his role in his meticulously planned robberies. However, just when Baby thinks he is finally free and clear to have his own life with his new girlfriend, Deborah, Doc coerces him back for another job. Now saddled with a crew of thugs too violently unstable to keep to Doc's plans, Baby finds himself and everything he cares for in terrible danger. To survive and escape the coming maelstrom, it will take all of Baby's skill, wits and daring, but even on the best track, can he make it when life is forcing him to face the music?

Watched The House....Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler.

"After the town takes away their daughter's college scholarship, a couple start an illegal casino in their friend's house to make back the money."

It was funny in parts and pretty good....entertaining.

Watched "Wish Upon"......."A teen girl discovers a magical box that will grant her seven wishes. As she uses her wishes for personal gain, bad things begin to happen to those around her. She discovers an evil entity lives inside the box and may be behind the gruesome deaths."

I liked this movie, even though it didn't rate high with the reviewers. I like the spooky ones.

It's not often I watch a black & white movie, but it was good to see those actors.

im not going to watch the last jedi because i foolishly watched that unimaginative, commercialized force awakens 2x.

the top rated IMDB fan reviews for last jedi are mostly 3 or less stars. it currently has 57% fan rating on rotten tomatoes.

one of the fan critics mentioned that with disney being owned by a massive media conglomerate, are the corporate critics even really that free to give us their unbiased review?

I see those no talent Star Wars actors are charging up to $295.00 for an autograph at Comic Con. And people are standing in line to pay. How stupid can you be?

'American Assassin'......"Twenty three-year-old Mitch lost his parents to a tragic car accident at the age of fourteen, and his girlfriend to a terrorist attack just as they were engaged. Seeking revenge, he is enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy as a black ops recruit. Kennedy then assigns Cold War veteran Stan Hurley to train Mitch. Together they will later on investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on military and civilian targets. The discovery of a pattern in the violence leads them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent to stop a mysterious operative intent on starting a world war in the Middle East."

It was confusing at times as we jumped from Spain to Rome to Turkey etc. Also, there were some similarities between 2 characters and I mixed them up at first. All in all it was pretty good with plenty of action.
