Good luck to you my friendGood to know. thanks
I know it's tempting and all, but I seriously don't know why any of you engage this clown whatsoever after all this time. You know his routine and track record, he has no worthwhile substance for topics.....and spent most of his years at UPS earning his keep under a desk.Thanks…”brother”…(solidarity)…..!
I have no respect for him after he drilled on all the retired people for years and they should not postI know it's tempting and all, but I seriously don't know why any of you engage this clown whatsoever after all this time. I'd love to unload on him, but that is pretty much the attention he's looking for so I refrain.
If at all possible I hope you and others will take this advice into consideration and please don't comment back to him and let him chat with himself. He'll either stay away for good or just babble to himself.
Thanks
Hopefully it will be changed to mean 5 hours, as in 5 HOURS. Not, "unload 2.5, porter 2.5, shuttle 2.5, helper 5, carwash 2.5. Thanks for all the hard work today Timmy, here's your straight time all day because you did so many different jobs"“Overtime improvements for part-time UPSers nationwide
The Teamsters achieved and continue to fight for more money for overtime.”
What could this mean.. double time? Was it not 5 hour OT everywhere already so I just wonder what this means
Well in that case you should be a full-time jobHopefully it will be changed to mean 5 hours, as in 5 HOURS. Not, "unload 2.5, porter 2.5, shuttle 2.5, helper 5, carwash 2.5. Thanks for all the hard work today Timmy, here's your straight time all day because you did so many different jobs"
I get where you're at. My first couple years I had days like that, and at the beginning I remember being very disappointed I didn't get OT over five because of the split jobs.Well in that case you should be a full-time job
Hopefully we have some better contract language this timeI get where you're at. My first couple years I had days like that, and at the beginning I remember being very disappointed I didn't get OT over five because of the split jobs.
In the southern it’s OT after 5 on one pay code or OT after 8 if you split as a part timer.Hopefully it will be changed to mean 5 hours, as in 5 HOURS. In the Central Region what you call a split shift, we call a double shift and we receive OT after 5 hours. Unless a PT Union member is working under Art 40 (delivering air or ground) then it is OT after 8 hours. Also Saturday Air is straight time even if it is a 6th punch unless you have worked 40 hours that week.In the southern it’s OT after 5 on one pay code or OT after 8 if you split as a part timer.
That scenario you mentioned should be at least what southern has, if not better.

BingoWe will.......Getting rid of that 50 % voter participation loophole was a game changer... Now the rank and file that do vote have the final say so.
Even if O'Brien shakes hands on this one he still has to sell it to his members. The current leadership has to hit this one out of the park...A lot of apathy, resentment, anger and mistrust out there with the ones who do vote.
The closer we get to the deadline (Brown Cafe) and other media sites will start to get more hits, especially if we do go out. Not just from our current membership but from the general public who are media addictive who will be looking for the real reasons behind the work stoppage. Comparing the media access back in "97" to today's will be a whole different story, everybody has access to a cell phone video that can be presented in public forum when it happens.
Blaming the greedy Union for the strike in "97" didn't work..In today's economy forget it...If a strike occurs it will be on the Company's decision making and protecting their status quo... if we lose business because the Company is playing games it will their issue not ours.
In the Central the part timers do not get any vested credits or additional pension benefits even if they work full time hours. Pension accruing stops at 35 years period…

So this is cool and all but.... i expected more of an update especially after the 24 hour "you better or..... else!" Ultimatum.
Alsl the company wanted any 5 in 7...... DAT! If that happened i would put my 2 weeks in right away. I am glad that some progress is being made though, grievence reform will be interesting.
Yes- get those ears in...Yep that's all I want. Might work beyond that just to keep UPS insurance.
That is correct. Hoping for improvement in the PT pension this contract. In the meantime where can I find a PT retirement job paying $40/hr?
You need to set your sights higher than that, starting with not listening to a word that IGP4U has to say.Yep that's all I want. Might work beyond that just to keep UPS insurance.
We had an employee (*) very much like you at my former center. He was basically on call 24/7 and, since he lived less than 5 minutes from the building, was their go-to guy whenever they needed someone to come in right away (screw the seniority call in list). I had his son for a helper one year---good kid but nearly as driven as Daddy. * was a very well compensated PTer.That is correct. Hoping for improvement in the PT pension this contract.
