I don't find many Netflix type series interesting and will usually punch out after a few minutes of "Episode 1". Either the premise is just not interesting or so full of woke liberal pap.....well to a 59 yo white conservative male.

I binge watched many episodes and to be clear have not finished the series but intend to.
Although filled with people of color....the main characters are white. With the woman being of strong will and substance....
The setting is LA current day. Aliens have "occupied" Earth. Creating "colonies" that are uh.....surrounded by walls.....alluding to free areas outside these walls. These colonies are used for crowd control and for attaining slave labor for some mysterious alien project. And yes black people are once again enslaved. And yes by black people.
The entire west coast is involved. Ironically all far left wing Democrat states...Texas(Dallas)(ironic as Dallas is very liberal) actually fought back and was destroyed it is intimated.
Whatever govt leaders were in office at the time of the occupation were either kept or replaced by alien sympathizers/collaborators. One being brought in from the east coast....
A "re-imagined" govt police force(filled with lots of black folks) ruthlessly murders citizens to keep order. Ironically, citizens having to show documents to travel.....
Yes, this series is rich with liberal irony.
And yes......you can easily substitute the current woke super left wing communist Biden Administration along with The Squad for the aliens....
The series smacks of communist/totalitarian rule with the "govt" providing benevolence and ruthless tyranny. Rich with collaborators and sympathizers straight out of communist/socialist history.
The theme seems to be several white collaborators in high govt places living richly while the population suffers. Lot's of blonde haired white women.
Gavin Newsom would fit right in...living large while there is mass suffering....Pelosi.......Biden....
The point:
I found it oddly ironic that this series was created by far left Netflix. While trying to draw sympathetic empathy for the common masses under occupation/oppression........the eerily similar current world events....so readily accepted and hungrily wanted by the Democrats/far left.
While the general public totally blindsided by the occupation......a sinister background was put in place prior to the devastating take over. The distribution of alien propaganda/philosophy throughout public schools eerily similar to current events. The indoctrination of our children....
The shadows of history in this fictional series is so ironically current, that it is at least interesting. But I suspect that irony is completely lost on liberal Netflix....
