Well, I’ve had the pleasure or (displeasure, however you look at it) of working in both systems since I started early enough to deal with delivering before a lot of of the technological advances. All these boomers acting like they did 12hr days for years and years.... unlike guys hired in the last 10, who actually are.
Half these guys couldnt qualify in todays environment.
"You took this job knowing there was Overtime" - meanwhile, their overtime is like 5 hrs a weeks for decades, and new giys now are maxing hours in a 5 day period for months and months on end.
This site is dead because of all these absokute boomer cuckservatives.
And I firmly say without GPS, power steering low step, a button to open the door, back up camera etc., etc. 90% of the people driving today would never have made it. They actually wouldn’t even be able to drive the manual shift vehicle out the door.
I would much rather work long hours with all of these conveniences.
There’s no such thing as going out on route actually blind anymore. I was thrown the keys many times as a new cover literally having absolutely no idea how to get to my first stop. Much less get the route done. Talk about going to work with a pit in your stomach every day until eventually you just didn’t care anymore.
Having said that there is no such thing as easy work at UPS at any time in any generation.
