I was in a Corvette doing 180 MPH.
Even as a 17 year old, I was concerned.
I never rode with him again.
The first time I every went 100 mph I was with my Uncle Jerry in his 1937 Plymouth Coupe with some kind of hopped up engine (he was in a car club). He was in the process of building this car and I remember it didn't have any floor in it so you could see the road going by when you looked down at your feet. It also didn't have any seatbelts. This was in about 1956. I was 7 or 8 years old and I was SCARED
LESS. That night we drove over to the sprint car races in Knoxville Iowa and he took me into the pits where I proceeded to just about get ran over by a sprintcar. It was a night I will always remember. He has always been my favorite relative and I still visit him every year in Iowa and we go the races in Knoxville.
