Whoever told me this white tree is a birch tree.... It's not. It's a sycamore. I just asked a guy who owns a lumber mill. I actually saw a large birch in someone's front yard today. That was easy to recognize.

Both sycamore and birch grow in near water like river bottomland. One easy way to tell a sycamore in winter is to look at the splotchy peeling bark. The main trunk of that tree isn't obviously a sycamore but it is if you look up at the higher branches.
