Thrift plan was good but took a while to build up much of a balance.

but it went away.

$6.00/week just couldn't build up enough. There were some years that fund payed 20-24%.

I guess I qualified as an "old timer" lol. When the company got into the NDA profits, that fund took off. Wished we could have contributed more than $312.00/year

We have the ROTH feature in our 401k now. I usually recommend them splitting their contributions 50/50
