There was a big corruption case here with local politicians getting money from the camera company.

Its never about safety. Just a revenue generator.

That is damn cheap. Here it's a 100 bucks just for the fine, but then they tack on court costs, and a surcharge just for good measure. But camera tickets here don't go on your driving record, so they don't have to be reported...
