Ocasio-Cortez and the “socialist” left

You have photos of strongmen and dictators and claim they are a negative.

You support Trump.

Do you not see the irony?
When Trump shuts down Congress and the Supreme Court, puts troops in the streets, then you can make that claim. Until then it's a bunch of horse hockey. And you know it.

Really? Most dictators keep puppet courts and judiciary’s around.

Was catching up on the latest Bill Maher episode this morning and he mentioned this NYT interactive piece that points out that I'm not alone in my moderation. Just here on BC and on social media. Will head on over to /r/politics and see how many hard left folks the NYT's having pointed this out has triggered.

The Democratic Electorate on Twitter Is Not the Actual Democratic Electorate

Part of the conclusion at the end of the piece:

"Of course, the Democratic Party has moved to the left in recent years. It has moved far enough left that there’s plenty of room for a progressive candidate to win the nomination. It would be a mistake to dismiss Mr. Sanders’s chances of winning the nomination just because white progressives have generally fallen short in the past. The name recognition he earned in 2016 will be an asset that prior outsider candidates haven’t been able to count on, and so will his impressive small-donor fund-raising.

But it would also be a mistake to assume that outrage on social media means outrage throughout the broader electorate. And it would be a mistake to assume that more moderate Democrats are out of step with the party’s electorate."

I don’t think that’s in question at all.

I think the point is that Democrats need to stop being afraid of it’s left flank and terrified by republicans crying “Socialism!”

The party and the country are bigger than the one person who sits in the Oval Office.

Do you think a hard left Democrat would have a strong shot at winning a Presidential election here in the US?

I think they may have to go a step further and actually identify theirselves as anti socialist.

Lol. No. Embarrassed for the president that he’s not embarrassed.

you dont find your presidential candidates sitting up and begging for Sharpton when asked to endorse reparations embarrassing?

you dont find AOC discussing cow farts as the face of the democrats embarrassing?

you didnt find Omar's reference to 9/11 as some people doing something embarrassing?

nor Talib saying she told her kid she will impeach the :censored2: embarrassing

instead you find a president making an argument for walls in a carefully scripted propaganda video embarrassing

there is much embarrassment to be found and your embarrassment is extremely blind and selective.

great link and interesting parallel.

There are many Trump supporters that wont wear trump shirts or bumper stickers or have trump lawn signs because they dont want their property vandalized or their family spit on my leftist crazies .

it appears the democrats may have their own silent majority also avoiding the crazies

Bernie? Yep.

Mayor Pete. Maybe. Fascinating to list to.

Personally, I’d prefer Biden.

No matter who it is, they’ll be branded as socialist.

Hmmmm. You and I must be as blind as each other if that’s what you see in this president.
