Ocasio-Cortez and the “socialist” left

I think they may have to go a step further and actually identify theirselves as anti socialist.

There's at least going to be a come to Jesus moment in which relative moderates like Nancy :censored2:ing Pelosi will have to hurt the progressive activist kids' feelings in pointing out that they can either continue patting each other on the back while screaming for a woke utopia....or they can beat Trump. Not both.

No matter who it is, they’ll be branded as socialist.

But moderates on both sides of the centerline will still know better if the Democrats truly are taking a reasoned approach to the issues as I think Mayor Pete would. The problem for Pete is that a lot of folks probably couldn't imagine a White House with a gay first husband in it. I wouldn't have a problem with it. But a lot of people might.

I agree. Sad to say but I think once they heard Pete speak, they might just rethink their homophobia. Shouldn’t have to be like that but he is impressive.

Or maybe the activists and their stupid enthusiasm is needed to push the issues.

The Green New Deal would never pass in its original form but that’s not to say ideas couldn’t be pushed along.

Maybe decent mass transit ? High speed rail like the Chinese, Japanese and French seem to be able to do with ease?

WTF AMERICA?!?

I think if Democrats want to be taken seriously they should try starting with reasonable proposals if they want voter buy in. Right now they're trying to sell voters a $10 Snickers bar in the "original form" Green New Deal. It's a turn off, people figure they're not serious about actually solving problems and they walk away from it.

So when you hear about cow farts and $10 snickers, do you wonder if there’s anything of merit, any workable idea that may be neglected for the sport of political theater?

Couldn't tell ya. I'm completely for prioritizing environmental protection over corporate profit. But Democrats have to say what they'd actually like to do in that area in Congress and on the campaign trail. Especially since not 1 Democrat voted for the GND in the Senate. Wasn't just because Mitch McConnell was being a meanie butt by putting it up for a vote.

Well that’s not how bills actually get passed now is it? You know, committees, process, back and forth...

Nobody was serious and everybody knows it.

But it would also be a mistake to assume that outrage on social media means outrage throughout the broader electorate. And it would be a mistake to assume that more moderate Democrats are out of step with the party’s electorate."

I wonder how many of these moderates would vote for Trump over Bernie.

Oh, is that why not 1 Democrat voted for AOC's resolution? Hadn't been passed around yet? LOL

Nobody was serious and everybody knows it.

That'd be a politically dangerous precedent for the Democrats to set. That whenever they propose something big, they're probably not actually serious about it.

A lot just wouldn't vote. Same end result, of course. A Trump re-election.

Absolutely. That’s an easy “No” vote. It even sets up softball questions come election time.

“Senator bbsam, you voted no on the GND. Aren’t you concerned that some in your party will find you too centrist?

Absolutely not, Heidi (Przbyla...she’s so cute). I wholly support what the House aims to do but I do have serious concerns abou how to achieve these goals. Without the ability to shape the deal through the legislative process, i simply can’t in good faith support it. And honestly, Senator McConnell and his party are barely able to admit that climate change exists, that income inequality is problematic, that new industries can thrive in the US or that we should even try to compete with the rest of the world in those industries. So when you ask about my “No” vote, I stand by that vote and enthusiastically look forward to becoming a “Yes” vote.

Not at all. Democrats were serious about Obamacare and they got it. Not the way they wanted it and definitely in need of reform, but it only happened through legislative process.

If you want a party that proposes something big and aren’t serious about it, I have three words for you “repeal and replace”.

A lot just wouldn't vote. Same end result, of course. A Trump re-election.

Nah. Not in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

He isnt a politician. He tells it like he feels instead of lying about it to make some one feel good. He has done everything he said he was or at least has tried. He makes people eat their words, in this weeks addition the liberal havens who say let em in who cares, are now saying no way, that's asinine, you cant do that, in regards to the illegals. My favorite is he has put a magnifying glass on just how soft this country has become in troves of people needing therapy because hes president.
