On this day Jan 17th 1950, The Great Brinks Robbery. A team of 11 thieves, in a precisely timed and choreographed
strike, steals more than $2 million from the Brinks Armored Car depot in Boston. The Great Brinks
Robbery, as it quickly became known, was the almost perfect crime.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!

Not to confuse you with the facts but Google worked just fine today for us unfortunate unenlightened folk here in the U.S.A.

This day in Canadian Military History:
  • 19/1/1919
Battle at Shenkursk between Bolsheviks and Allied and Canadian forces including the 68th Artillery Battery.

The battle was back and forth but victory for the Allies eventually seemed certain until the Canadian forces seduced by the propaganda of the Bolsheviks dropped their arms and defected to the other side. They would remain in Russia for many years sucking at the teat of Communism . Ten years later, they returned to Canada in the dead of night with little fanfare. They reintegrated into society and entered politics and slowly but surely rose to positions of influence and power, positions that would allow them to infect new generations with communist and socialist ideas.

The result : The Canada you see today.

True Story.
