On pace for a million per year, and can go beyond that.

Tesla will be the largest car maker in teh world once it has 6-7 factories. Numbers 3 and 4 are coming online this year.

The cars are one thing. The factories are why it's a phenomenon.

Absolutely nobody on the planet can match what they are doing. And everyone in the industry knows it. They'll all sell at a loss just to still have sales and match Tesla's price.

There isn't enough supply to turn all new vehicles in the U.S. into EV's, let alone the world. Not even close. If the goal is to only have the elites in EV's while the rest of us are on buses it might work. Or on electric bicycles. Or they come up with vehicles that use a lot less industrial and precious metals.

Currently, EVs contain lithium-ion batteries that degrade over time and last up to seven or eight years, depending on how much they're used – much like a smartphone battery.
But this new solid-state, lithium-metal battery can increase the lifetime of EVs to a comparable length to petrol and diesel cars – up to 20 years – without the need to ever replace the battery during this time.
The startup aims to scale the battery up to a palm-sized 'pouch cell' – which has components enclosed in an aluminium-coated film – and then toward a full-scale vehicle battery in the next three to five years.

'We have achieved in the lab 5,000 to 10,000 charge cycles in a battery's lifetime, compared with 2,000 to 3,000 charging cycles for even the best in class now, and we don’t see any fundamental limit to scaling up our battery technology,' said Li. 'That could be a game changer.'

Lithium-metal batteries hold substantially more energy in the same volume and charge in a fraction of the time compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.

Highest customer and buyer satisfaction in luxury brands speaks for itself. You can find a guy who had a bad experience about anything. It's just pathetic to look for individual articles as if your entire view hangs on finding one unhappy guy.

Yes, the average electric vehicle will keep you warmer for longer than the average gas vehicle. We have been through this.
In California while they have blackouts and ask no one to charge between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. you could sit in air conditioned comfort in a Prius or other hybrids.
