'The thing about electric motors is they have the ability to accelerate very fast. If you put together that and how heavy the vehicle is, that is what creates the additional wear on the tire.' Nick Molden, founder and CEO of Emissions Analytics.

electric cars are good for solving the housing crisis because people can live in their cars and not worry about carbon monoxide poisoning.

The car manufacturers have too much money tied up in the venture to turn around and abandon it now.
Other than Tesla and a few much smaller companies, which automakers are primarily making EV's now? Which are making 50% of their cars EV's? Which are even making 10% all electric? They could walk away tomorrow if they wanted to. Except the government is mandating it so they have no choice. Big difference between being forced to go along and doing it because the marketplace dictates it.

They took the money knowing that there were performance stipulations that went along with it and are now being challenged to fulfill the terms by which the money was granted.

Yes, there are some diehards on here unwilling to give up there gas hogs but in the end if an EV is the only form of wheeled transportation on the market the customer will have 4 choices....drive an EV, use public transportation, a bicycle....or walk.

They haven't been able to bring prices down to a reasonable level so there will be a whole lot of walking going on.

By the way do you consider a 50 mpg hybrid a gas hog? I'm perfectly fine with hybrid technology. Of course there are diehards on here who must eliminate fossil fuels at all costs.

Did you read the report that came out last night regarding the AMOC? I'm not an alarmist but this report combined with the South and Southwest becoming unlivable due to the heat you have to afford reports such as this one the respect it's due.
