By who, and how?
this is the nature of capitalism as an employee

if it was a political system, it would be obvious what one it is, but because we have poor understanding of economics (low union rate is one sign) its hard for many of us to see what kind of economic system we live under.

It's not capitalism that's for sure.

This smoke is toxic.
Firefighters were quick to respond but faced unique challenges in extinguishing the blaze. “It was an odd fire because it went off like bottle rockets,” Mewhinney noted. The electric nature of the vehicle, specifically its battery cells, made the fire more difficult to control. Rex Strickland, deputy fire chief at the Spokane Fire Department, emphasized the hazards, stating, “The smoke that comes off of an electric battery is really, really nasty. Tons of heavy metals, lithium cobalt – really a lot of things that basically never go away and are incredibly carcinogenic.”

Mike Kucharski, vice president and co-owner of JKC Trucking, told Fox News that the Biden administration's proposal will reportedly push small business trucking companies out of business, which amount to 95 percent of the industry. He warned that the EPA regulations will restrict transportation capacity nationwide, and result in severe price inflation "worse than we have right now," which will be passed on to consumers.
The American Truck Dealers Association (ATDA) believes the regulations will result in a $42,000 increase per truck, rather than the EPA's estimate of $2,568 to $8,304 per vehicle for the technology needed to fulfill the new standards. Over the course of the program, the ATDA estimates that the associated costs of this new regulation will cost American taxpayers $55 billion.
"A new clean diesel long haul tractor typically costs in the range of $180,000 to $200,000," Kucharski told Fox News. "A comparable battery electric tractor costs upwards of $480,000, that's about a $300,000 upcharge, [which] is cost prohibitive for the overwhelming majority of motor carriers."

government shouldve invested in electric battery research over the decades instead of oil subsidies

I assume you're posting from your oil powered phone?
Battery is not sustainable. The military doesn't even use it.
Two things that you can t bet on. The way porn industry goes with video sales will turn out to be the way the industry goes. Then the way the military decides to run their vehicles. Will be the standard 5 to 10 years later.

A family was forced to call the cops after Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm's staff blocked an EV charging station in Georgia while promoting green energy. Granholm's (pictured) four-day trip from North Carolina to Tennessee was designed to 'draw attention to the billions of dollars the White House is pouring into green energy and clean cars,' according to an NPR story about the drive.
But one issue they were forced to contend with was the lack of charging stations across the country for electric vehicles to be a reliable choice of transport. Granholm's staff ran into trouble outside of Augusta, Georgia, when a family in an electric vehicle confronted them because they were blocking off a spot at an electric vehicle charging station with a gas-powered car. According to Camila Domonoske, who wrote the NPR piece, 'an Energy Department staffer tried parking a nonelectric vehicle by one of those working chargers to reserve a spot for the approaching secretary of energy.'
'That did not go down well: a regular gas-powered car blocking the only free spot for a charger?' she continued. 'In fact, a family that was boxed out - on a sweltering day, with a baby in the vehicle - was so upset they decided to get the authorities involved

I recently went to a microbrewery/beergarden that has 4 EV charging spots in the parking lot. Except only 1 spot was taken up with an EV and the other 3 spots were all filled with regular trucks/SUVs. I saw two EVs pull in, forlornly look at the filled charging spaces and drive away.

They should have gone and parked at a gas station fuel pump in retaliation!
