Stay focused. Your compadre cited the "40 degree above average heat wave in the Pacific Northwest". This article talks specifically to that and proves what "sad and pathetic" looks like.

The scientific community does not consider a one year event in one relatively small part of the planet sufficient to discredit reams of data and years of study on a global scale that supports the conclusion that climate change is real and is man made.

Now you can dismiss what the scientific community has collectively concluded if you want to but can you disprove it?
Even Professor Nakamura pointed to the fact that more study needs to be made to determine if this was a one off event or does it serve as a marker in the study of climate change that could be pointing to something larger.

Meanwhile we must impose a socialist economic system to deal with climate change. Uh-huh.

If the country defaults next week you'll have the opportunity to see what life in America looks like without the SOCIAL programs
In fact 25 billion in Social Security checks due out June 2 payable to beneficiaries who started drawing benefits prior to May 1997 are expected to be among the first casualties along with Medicare payments to providers,

Only stands to reason. SS and Medicare has been part of general revenues for decades.

BINGO!!!

They tell us that if we don't hit a specific target (usually reducing something by a certain amount) by a specific date, we will suffer a specific consequence. The date passes, we came nowhere near hitting the target (and rarely made any meaningful progress at all), and nothing even remotely resembling the predicted consequence -or any consequence- happened. Then they come up with a new scare, which never happens, and then another and another and another etc. This has been going on for decades.

Either the data they're using is bad or they aren't capable of accurately interpreting it. There's no other way to explain so many decades of failure.
You’re the one who’s incapable of accurately interpreting it. You wouldn’t even know what you were looking at it was in front of your face. You aren’t anywhere near as smart as you think you are

Six decades of horribly, laughably failed predictions and you blame the people who notice?

Sad that Democrats are threatening to default.
They're not going to of course.

But it's sad they're tricking the large segment of their sheep that are gullible enough to fall for their shameless political posturing.

You know that though.
Right?

A 62 yr old in '96 would be 88 this year. Not a lot of them left.

Then why is 25 billion in checks alone going to be sent out to people in that particular demographic?
An addition 25 billion each is due to be sent on June 14 June 21 and June 28. Payments are based on the month a person was born in and the year in which they began receiving benefits.

I have no idea.*

*See "waste, fraud, and abuse."

And my fuzzy math is wrong. They'd be 89.
