The history was Israel was forced to fence off the entire country to prevent constant terror attacks. The history was Israel fighting off its Muslim neighbors. The history was Christians in Lebanon having to flee their country with Muslims driving them out. The history of the entire region was dealing with Muslim armies that came out of the Arabian Peninsula and conquered, pillaged and killed everyone in their path across south and central Asia all the way to the Pacific as well as repeated attempts to conquer Europe. The Muslims can't deal with any other group having authority over them.
What it means to be a good Muslim? A decent percentage of them believe they must please Allah by conquering non Muslims and imposing Islam on them. What do you think ISIS and al-Qaeda were doing?

Well enlighten me. You do know that the Muslims conquered most of southern Italy and Spain and Portugal and held them for hundreds of years? That they conquered most of the Balkan Peninsula and held it for 500 years? Have you ever asked why the largest Muslim country is Indonesia? It's a long way from Arabia. The Muslims didn't send missionaries, they sent armies. You are aware that there has been serious strife between Hindus and Muslims for centuries? Why do you think when India achieved its independence from the British it was only with the agreement to make the two major Muslim areas, Pakistan and Bangladesh, separate countries? The Muslim minority inside India still causes constant trouble and India and Pakistan might someday see the first nuclear war.
The Muslims in Gaza are only interested in one thing, driving every Jew into the Mediterranean. Except for those they kill first. They aren't interested in peace. Thus they are fenced off.

chris hedges graduated harvard divinity school. i also have other peoples interpretations of christianity. when you know hte basics, it should be common sense. but it got coopted 3 century i believe by the romans and a lot of people dont have common sense.

The difference between Christian countries and Muslim countries is this: the Christian colonizers did not impose Christianity on the lands conquered with the exception of the Spanish. The missionaries/priests preached Christianity and people chose to accept or reject it. The Muslims when conquering a land gave three choices: accept and convert, keep your religion but in all things you must be subservient and pay tribute to your conquerors, or die.
For example when the Muslims conquered the Balkan Peninsula they wouldn't allow the building of a Christian cathedral that was larger, more grand than the local mosque. Christians were forced to build their churches below ground level with only a portion above ground.
Another example. India was conquered by the British Empire. But only a small portion of the population is Christian. Most are either Hindu or Muslim. The British didn't force Christianity on the population.
Again, you'd know this if you would crack a few books. Well documented history out there that doesn't have the Chris Hedges spin on it.

The Europeans dominated the world because they were conquered in part by the Mongols, the Huns, the Muslims, and a few others. This led to them inventing weapons and ships that they could defend themselves with. When they had secured their freedom from outside invasion they then started projecting their power with exploration and conquering. That and they had 25% of the world's population at that time.
This is settled history Ricky. Historians reach consensus. They don't make up stories to cover their asses. That's what propagandists do. You don't want rational, unbiased explanations of what happened. You want only to hear that all evil in the world started and is present because of white men. The evil Israelis are white, and thus the poor darker Palestinians must be protected from them by the enlightened liberal whites who stand up to white supremacy. That's at the root of every discussion about history and modern geopolitics by today's academics. They never discuss the evil committed by other races. The media always quashes any evil committed by anyone other than white men. It's patently dishonest, and you buy into it.

You say what has race have to do with it then turn around and talk about whites in North America. There was no free market in North America at the time either. No doubt the whites invaded and won. It was warfare and superior technology plus the mass die off of the natives through introduced diseases ultimately won out for the Europeans. But the academics will frame it as the mass killing of the natives by the evil whites. And you buy into it.
