Police pursuit ends in gunfire after armed robbery

Of course the cops should have let them go (for the time being). Police with air support are fully capable of backing off a situation to allow a better opportunity to present itself. Your argument is astonishing.
No way that package car was going to be able to get away from the cops. Follow it and try to deescalate the situation. Unlikely they would shoot their hostage since he was the only thing keeping them alive. If the cops had to pin them in it definitely should have been done in a more isolated location.

This massive failure will be used as what not to do for decades to come. This is not how hostage situations are handled.

Precisely. Thanks for your ignorance.

Who are you to ask for credentials on a UPS message board? Do you think two civilian deaths was a successful operation for those police departments? What you see in that video is not a proper protocol for hostage situations. It was a failed operation that will be studied for years to come. A layman can figure this one out - police killed a hostage. In what world is that a success?

does anyone know what the aftermath of this is? were the police investigated for wrongful death of the UPS driver. I have been searching all over and the last stories are for December 10th.

It seems like they just swept this under the rug after a couple days.

So, what happened in the "investigation" of this?
"The FBI and FDLE are handling the investigation into the incident.

The FBI declined to comment because the investigation is ongoing.

A spokeswoman with the FDLE said their agency will focus on whether or not the officers involved committed any crimes by using deadly force. She said that because of how many agencies and officers are involved in the incident, it will take longer than the normal time frame of 6 months to a year."

it's easy to see they are stalling for everyone to forget about it and they need time to white wash it.

not sure why. don't see UPSers rioting and looting like you know who....
