President Trump

Inordinately Right
Because the name of our country would have to be changed
from the United STATES of America
to the Tyranny of the Mob of America.
If we change how the president is elected?
Wrong.
You're such a drama queen lately lol.

You are confused about what the role of the president is.... Not to mention ignorant of our entire system of government.

The National Popular Vote legislation would make the electoral college a non issue (because it would always reflect the popular vote) and is well on it's way to becoming a reality.
National Popular Vote
Anyone with any integrity that read the entire article/website would see right through this ... it's a nothing burger.
Basically, the only states to pass this are Deep Blue states and only 11 at that.
The only thing well on the way is the laughing and guffaws at this goofy article and the Dims that latch onto it.
The dumbbutt Libs don't see the most likely effect of this is that the Repugs will be the beneficiary ... the only states that will pass this are already Blue states. SMH

If this is voted on by a State Legislature and passed, I have no issue with that decision. As long as each state decides legally how to vote without being compelled by the National Government, that's cool.

The National Popular Vote bill will take effect when enacted into law by states possessing 270 electoral votes (a majority of the 538 electoral votes). It has been enacted into law in 12 jurisdictions possessing 172 electoral votes (CA, CT, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA). The bill will take effect when enacted by states possessing an additional 98 electoral votes.

The National Popular Vote bill has now passed a total of 36 state legislative chambers in 23 states. The bill has passed passed both legislative chambers (but in different years) in 2 states with 14 electoral votes (CO, NM), and it has also passed one legislative chamber in 9 states possessing 75 electoral votes (AR, AZ, DE, ME, MI, NC, NV, OK, OR). It has been unanimously approved at the committee level in 2 states possessing 27 electoral votes (GA, MO). The National Popular Vote bill has been introduced in various years in all 50 states.

On the map below, each square represents one electoral vote (out of 538).

Read up on it. Reliable states receive no federal attention because their vote is never in play. Swing states receive outsized attention from the president. That’s bad. National popular vote makes them campaign and govern for everyone.
Not true campaigning would be concentrated in the states with the most votes

The ironic thing is Dems are trying to force the issue when if they just let things run their course they'll get what they want eventually. Blue States are known for their very high taxes and many of them have poor economies. Thus even the rabid Left are leaving to seek their fortunes in Red States that are thriving. Texas, of all places, almost had enough votes for a Dem candidate with very liberal ideas to unseat a conservative Senator. That would've been unthinkable in the past. So as liberal constituencies grow they'll start taking over Red States to the point the electoral college will go Blue almost all the time. Doesn't matter if North Dakota or Oklahoma is Red. With major electoral Red States like Texas and Georgia, and Purple States like Florida, moving into the Blue column it's all but decided. No need to destroy the country with another 20 million illegals we eventually won't be able to support. But Dems want it NOW. Can't wait for the inevitable. The only thing that'll ever change things back would be they screw up things so badly that a future generation rejects their policies out of self interest.

They allocate their electoral votes to the national popular vote winner. States can assign their electoral votes anyway they want. Once there are enough member states in the compact the national popular vote will be the way the president gets elected.
In theory, yes but if only Liberal, :poop:hole states vote this in, it makes no difference.
The only scenario in which it will make a difference is when the electoral college votes are greater for the Dim and Repug wins the popular vote.
Such stupid Dimwits! LOL
